There has been plenty of new features that were added to the new release of the iphone software but one you may not know about is the ability to turn ON wifi (wireless internet) while in airplane mode.This is how to do it:
1. While in airplane mode go to Settings
2. You should see wifi and it will be labeled OFF
3. Select wifi and switch the OFF switch to ON
4. And now if there is wifi on your plane then you can enjoy wifi while in flight
